Collaborative Divorce
More and more people are choosing to settle their cases amicably, keeping their dignity, integrity and privacy intact, while sheltering themselves and their children from the emotional and economic devastation that can result from litigation through the use of collaborative divorce.
Divorce and Legal Separation
We represent people in both contested and uncontested divorces and uncontested divorces, handling all related issues from child custody disputes to division of assets and debts, including high net worth divorces, and business valuations. At times couples contemplating a divorce consider a legal separation at first, however, Texas does not recognize legal separation.
Mediations
Mediation is a form of alternative dispute resolution, where a trained mediator acts as a neutral aid in assisting the parties and their attorneys in negotiating and settling their disputes, thus avoiding the need for court intervention.
Limited Scope and Self-Help Forms Help
With our Limited Scope Representation we help to provide only specified legal services to our clients, who, rather than handling all aspects of their case, determine that they need limited, specificassistance from an attorney either to act as a consultant, assist with representation in reaching an informal agreement, drafting legal documents, or advice concerning “self-help” and/or “Pro Se” forms.
Uncontested Divorce
Sometimes couples work out all of the issues in a divorce between themselves, but need a lawyer to file the divorce suit and make sure that all legal requirements are met so that the divorce can be granted with a properly drafted divorce decree. In these situations, our office can represent one of the spouses in filing the divorce petition, and drafting all necessary final documents.
Contested Divorce
There are times when disputes cannot be resolved between the couples themselves, and the level of trust between them has disintegrated where legal representation for each of the parties is beneficial and/or necessary. Litigation is not the only resource for settling your disputes. Resolution can be hadthrough informal settlement agreements cooperative law, mediation, and/or collaborative divorce.
